Youth & Family Ministry Info and Opportunities
CSL Teen Camp Updates:
– Fabiana Crenshaw, Stacey Saadiq, Rev. Willa, and Dom DiPaola (from Corte Madera CSL) participated with 45 other Teen Camp Advisors in the CSL Teen Camp Advisor Intensive Training, May 19-21 at Camp Buckhold in Idyllwild, CA. It was a FULL weekend and the training was rich and powerful. We were warmly welcomed by everyone and we were pleased, proud and honored to represent our East Bay Church spiritual family.
– Our Mother’s Day Flower Bouquet fundraiser was a blooming success!!! As a result of your generosity we raised $2,300 that day! The youth had a blast putting the bouquets together and they were thrilled at the result! We have also received additional financial donations and we are grateful for your generous support. Thank you! Thank you!
– As of now, we have 4 East Bay teens & 1 Corte Madera CSL teen going to camp, and there may be more on the way! We are THRILLED about this! We know that their lives will be enriched and expanded as they participate in a camp that isn’t about making wallets or riding in canoes, yet is about “personal self-empowerment through spiritual awakening”. Yes!
– We have some more fundraising to do to pay for camp registration and travel costs. We’ll be selling freshly baked or store bought tasty treats after services on June 11th, and on Father’s Day, June 18th, we’ll be selling a more hearty meal. We look forward to seeing you and serving you! You can also make donations via the Gracious Giving Kiosk in the Fellowship Hall, or via www.ebcrs.org, or directly to Rev. Willa.
Our theme for June is Accountability:
We account for our activities, disclose them in a transparent manner, and accept responsibility for our actions and the obligations entrusted to us.
June 4th – The Courage to Do the Right Thing
June 11th – Creating a Culture of Accountability
June 18th – The Father Within (Father’s Day)
June 25th – Aligning Your Values with Your Actions….or…Aligning Your Actions with Your Values!
Our Youth Group (ages 5-12) and Teen Group (ages 13-18) meet on Sundays in the Rev. E building. Our services formally begin at 11:30am and complete around 1pm-ish. Youth and Teens can arrive as early as 10:45am so parents/guardians can attend the 11:00 Mediation Service in the Sanctuary. Parents/guardians, please sign your youth/teens in before you go to the Sanctuary, and sign them out immediately after the Celebration Service ends.
