A Note From Reverend Celeste on the Sacred Practice of Visioning

Monthly East Bay Visioning sessions are here. Tune in and get tuned up for success with as much enthusiasm and zeal you possibly can—as if you were fishing for a meal and catching it was the last possible chance that you would have to ever eat again!

Sure, there are people who fish for sport. But more people fish because they want to be fed. Living waters flow within us and yet we still thirst. It is for this very reason that we must vision! We need these inner essentials for our nourishment, growth and our soul’s unfoldment. As my teacher, Reverend Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith says: “There is a sacred calling within you beyond time and space, forever hounding you to be more. Yield to it.”

Visioning is like mining for gold but it is not as physically strenuous, although it does call for going deep. But it is very simple because all we do is ask and stay in the questions that are deeply implanted in the core of our being. And once know the question, the answer we have been seeking is much more apparent.

We often speak of visioning at the beginning of the year because we see the brand new year as fresh start with a willingness to see with new eyes. The spiritual practice of visioning allows us to do just that! We cast aside our human vision that is filled with so much of our past—and we become very available to the present moment in order to receive the full bounty of blessings that await us. We obtain a new way of seeing. Visioning gives us new eyes—God’s eyes.

Please do not confuse visioning with visualizing. While treasure mapping is valuable for getting what you desire in the material realm, there is much more for us to realize in the spirit realm. Rather than giving God a list of the things that we want, we use our spiritual muscle to hear what God wants us to be, do and then have. And by “hear”,  I mean truly listen to that which is for our highest and best good.

Jesus was a fisher of men so that his mission would most assuredly be accomplished. Siddhartha sat still beneath the tree until he reached enlightenment and became Buddha. Moses heard a voice guiding him when there was no human in sight. So we know that:

  1. Support is key to achieving our mission
  2. God is speaking in the stillness and
  3. There is a strong guiding voice to be heard.

We can vision for every area of life such as health, wealth, relationships, career, our planet and more!

“Visioning is a process by which we train ourselves to be able to hear, feel, see, and catch God’s plan for our life or for any particular project. “… we’re not here to tell God what to do or to ask God for things but to absolutely be available for what God is already doing, to open ourselves up to catch what’s already happening.”
